The K6 (Baltistan Peak) and K7 (Masherbrum) Basecamp treks in the Hushe Valley of Pakistan are among the most stunning and challenging treks in the Karakoram Range. These treks offer breathtaking views of towering peaks, glaciers, and remote villages. Below is a 10-day itinerary for the K6/K7 Basecamp treks, starting and ending in Skardu.
Arrival at Islamabad International airport and transferred to comfortable centrally located hotel. Reminder of the day is free for you to relax and recovered from long flight to Pakistan. in the after noon, for those who desire there will be a tour of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and bustling bazaar of Rawalpindi. In the evening we have a welcome dinner where you will have the opportunity to meet your guide and other member of group. Overnight stay at hotel.
Arrive in Skardu (by air or road from Islamabad). Spend the day acclimatizing and preparing for the trek. Explore Skardu town, visit Kharpocho Fort, and enjoy the views of the Indus River. Overnight in Skardu.
Drive from Skardu to Hushe Village (approx. 6-7 hours). The journey takes you through scenic landscapes, including the Shyok River and the Hushe Valley. Meet your guide and porters in Hushe and finalize preparations. Overnight in Hushe Village.
Start your trek from Hushe Village (3,100m) to Saitcho (3,400m). The trail follows the Hushe River, offering stunning views of Masherbrum (K1) and other peaks. Trek duration: 4-5 hours. Overnight camping at Saitcho.
Trek from Saitcho to Khuspang (3,800m), the basecamp for K6 and K7. The trail passes through rugged terrain, with views of the Charakusa Glacier and surrounding peaks. Trek duration: 5-6 hours. Overnight camping at Khuspang.
Spend a day acclimatizing and exploring the area. Hike to nearby viewpoints for panoramic views of K6 (Baltistan Peak), K7 (Masherbrum), and other peaks. Visit the Charakusa Glacier and enjoy the serene environment. Overnight camping at Khuspang.
Trek from Khuspang to the K6 Basecamp (4,200m). The trail is challenging, with steep sections and rocky terrain. Enjoy close-up views of K6 and the surrounding glaciers. Trek duration: 6-7 hours. Overnight camping at K6 Basecamp.
Trek back from K6 Basecamp to Khuspang. The descent is easier but still requires careful navigation. Trek duration: 5-6 hours. Overnight camping at Khuspang.
Trek from Khuspang back to Hushe Village. The trail retraces your steps through the beautiful Hushe Valley. Trek duration: 5-6 hours. Celebrate the completion of your trek with your team. Overnight in Hushe Village.
Drive back from Hushe Village to Skardu. Enjoy the scenic drive and reflect on your trekking adventure. Overnight in Skardu.
Fly to Islamabad
Transfer to Islamabad international airport for the onward flight (End of services).
